\r\nThere was only one case at the Valdosta-Lowndes Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBOA).\r\nJohnny Ball wants a variance for a roof over his swimming pool at 12 Brentwood Place, Valdosta, GA.\r\nThat’s off of Sherwood Drive, which comes north from Baytree Road,\r\nbut Brentwood Place is between Gornto Road and the railroad and Sugar Creek,\r\nupstream from the Withlacoochee River.\r\nAlso they have a new ZBOA member.\r\n

\r\nThat has setback requirements, depending on whether it is an accessory structure\r\nor an addition to the house (attached to it), and whether it is enclosed.\r\nWhichever it was, it actually did not match the city code.\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\nBut since it did no harm to the neighbors or anything,\r\nthey granted the variance.\r\n

\r\nAs he mentioned, Johnny Ball is on the Greater Lowndes Planning Commission<\/a>,\r\nbut he was at ZBOA as an individual property owner.\r\n

\r\nThey have a new member, Samuel Clemons, a Valdosta appointee, term expires May 8, 2024.\r\nI don’t know whether he is the Dr. Samuel Clemons, Regional Director, Horizon Academy<\/a>, Valdosta City Schools,\r\nor the\r\n\r\nSamuel Clemons, Jr., Principal, Pine Grove Middle School<\/a>, Lowndes County Schools,\r\nor somebody else.\r\nI’d guess the former, since he’s a city appointee.\r\n
