\nValdosta’s list of open appointments, qualifications, etc. can be found\n\nhere.<\/a>\nThere are 14 positions open on 8 boards,\nranging from the Parks and Recreation Authority, which has its own dedicated\ntax millage larger than that of the Industrial Authority, to the Keep Lowndes-Valdosta Beautiful Board,\nwhich has a paid executive director.\nHere’s an excerpt:\n\n\n

\nThe closing date for submitting the General Board Application and Code of Ethics form to the City\nClerk is Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 5:00 p.m.\n<\/blockquote>\nNo Industrial Authority board slots are open this year, although\nthere may be one or two open next year.\n

\nLowndes County doesn’t seem to have such a public list of open appointments,\nwhich is another thing that could be improved.\nAt the moment the county\n\nhas listed applications<\/a>\nfor Keep Lowndes Valdosta Beautiful (KLVB)\nand volunteers for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).\n

\nShort version:\nif you live in Valdosta, look over that list and consider applying.\nIf you don’t want to apply think of who you know who should.\nIf you live in Lowndes County, maybe you can find out what county openings\nthere are and let LAKE know so we can publish a list.\n
