Update 2020-06-05<\/strong>: Lowndes County video has appeared<\/a>, revealing several things not in the minutes.\r\n

\r\nLAKE did not video the May 12, 2020, Regular Session of the Lowndes County Commission, due to pandemic.\r\nThere was no telephone dial-in and no facebook live.\r\nThe last Lowndes County Commission video of its own meeting was February 25, 2020.\r\nSo the only record will be the Minutes, which we may or may not see before their next meeting, which is this Tuesday.\r\n

\r\nWe get a location map but no indication of future county tax-paid costs of upkeep for the\r\ninfrastructure for Two Oaks at Bemiss.\r\n

\r\nYet we get evaluations by three different people of three proposals for the\r\nLowndes County Hazard Mitigation RFP; winning bid $20,000.\r\n

\r\nThe packet contains only the agenda sheet and a signature page for a resolution for the GDOT TIA Old US 41 Widening;\r\nthe actual Resolution is missing.\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\nYet 34 of the 54 packet pages are details on the\r\nFY 2021 Juvenile Justice Incentive Grant Application.\r\n

\r\nWhat’s the difference?\r\nWell, for one thing, the detailed items are from\r\nthe Emergency Management and Finance Departments.\r\nThe two laconic items are from Engineering.\r\n\r\n

\r\nThe Hazard Mitigation RFP is on the county’s website<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nUnlike the more expensive stream monitoring project<\/a> of last month’s meeting, for which there was no RFP and no bids.\r\n

\r\nThe entire board packet is on the LAKE website<\/a>, along with the minutes of the previous meeting.\r\nLAKE obtained those documents through a Georgia Open Records Act (GORA) request.\r\nDocuments received 2:49 PM, Tuesday, May 12, 2020 (less than three hours before the Regular Session).\r\nNonetheless, I thank the County for sending the board packet before the meeting.\r\nI admit I did not expect that, and did not look that day.\r\n
