Valdosta still has to agree to it.\r\n<p>\r\nThese must be golden words indeed, to have been worth the hundreds of thousands of legal fees expended over them:\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<ol start=\"2\">\r\n<li> In regards to water and sewer services:\r\n<p>\r\nThe Parties&#8217; current water and sewer service areas are delineated on\r\nthe service area maps attached to the DCA Forms for water and sewer\r\nservices approved herewith.\r\n<p>\r\nAll existing intergovernmental agreements of the Parties regarding\r\nthe provision of water and sewer services shall remain in effect.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nAny request for an extraterritorial extension shall be negotiated by\r\nthe requesting Party and the affected Party. Approval of the\r\naffected Party shall not be unreasonably withheld.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nThe wording is\r\n<strong>&ldquo;based on trust,&rdquo;<\/strong> said Commissioner Clay Griner.\r\n&ldquo;Where&#8217;s the document?&rdquo; responded Commissioner Mark Wisenbaker?\r\n&ldquo;It&#8217;s on your ipad,&rdquo;\r\nclarified Chair Bill Slaughter.\r\n<p>\r\nAs the County Clerk proceeded to hand out paper copies, Griner elaborated:\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nAnd it&#8217;s all based on trust.\r\nIt&#8217;s us trusting, the County Commission trusting the City Council,\r\nwhichever municipality it is, to do the right thing.\r\nThe city council has to trust the County Commission to do the right thing.\r\nAnd the citizens to trust all of us to sit down and do the right thing.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nAfter the county didn&#8217;t put anything for the citizens to see on the county website \r\nabout this Wednesday morning meeting until <!--more-->\r\n\r\nless than 24 hours before the meeting.\r\n<p>\r\nAfter the Commissioners didn&#8217;t trust the Chair to negotiate for them\r\nwhen Clay Griner convened a meeting\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2019\/03\/videos-service-delivery-strategy-sds-meeting-lowndes-county-and-cities-sds-2019-02-04.html\">\r\nback in February when county Commissioners met with city council members of the cities but not their mayors<\/a>.\r\n<p>\r\nThat meeting resulted in an agreement on one item, I believe about this Service Delivery Strategy (SDS), which is to say distribution of taxes among Lowndes County and the five cities within it, Valdosta, Hahira, Remerton, Dasher, and Lake Park.\r\nI&#8217;m told by a Valdosta City Council member that the county repudiated that February\r\nagreement in writing a few days later.\r\n<p>\r\nLast night the new Mayor of Valdosta, Scott James, said he had convened or participated in I think he said six or nine meetings on this subject before he\r\nwas even the mayor.\r\n<p>\r\nPictured on the left is Walter G.
