{"id":21432,"date":"2019-11-10T10:28:42","date_gmt":"2019-11-10T15:28:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/?p=21432"},"modified":"2019-11-10T10:28:42","modified_gmt":"2019-11-10T15:28:42","slug":"videos-developer-opposes-his-own-application-glpc-2019-10-28","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2019\/11\/videos-developer-opposes-his-own-application-glpc-2019-10-28.html","title":{"rendered":"Videos: Developer opposes his own application @ GLPC 2019-10-28"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\r\nWell, I&#8217;ve never seen this before, in a dozen years of watching this Planning Commission:\r\nan applicant opposing his own\r\n<a href=\"#HA-2019-06\">\r\nannexation request<\/a>.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align:center;font-size:80%;font-style:italic\">\r\n<a title=\"Applicant against annexation, HA-2019-06 Ben House, 6670 Brookridge Drive, Hahira\" name=\"Hahira:Applicant-against-annexation-HA201906-Ben-House-6670-Brookridge-Drive-Hahira\" href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/glpc\/2019-10-28--glpc-packet\/applicant-against.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=0 src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/glpc\/2019-10-28--glpc-packet\/applicant-against.jpg\"  alt=\"[Applicant against annexation, HA-2019-06 Ben House, 6670 Brookridge Drive, Hahira]\"><\/a>\r\n<br><a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/glpc\/2019-10-28--glpc-packet\/#Hahira:Applicant-against-annexation-HA201906-Ben-House-6670-Brookridge-Drive-Hahira\">Applicant against annexation, HA-2019-06 Ben House, 6670 Brookridge Drive, Hahira<\/a>\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nI asked the applicant afterwards, and he said<!--more-->\r\n\r\n he&#8217;d done it only once before, in fifteen years.\r\n<p>\r\nThis was after the Planning Commissioners voted to\r\n<a href=\"#HA-2019-04-Part-2-Part-3\">approve<\/a>\r\nhis\r\n<a href=\"#HA-2019-04\">rezoning<\/a> request,\r\nbut to\r\n<a href=\"#HA-2019-05\">deny<\/a> his \r\nrequest for a residential Planned Develepment on 59.63 acres in R-10 zoning.\r\nCommissioners then voted to recommend denial of\r\n<a href=\"#HA-2019-06\">\r\nhe annexation<\/a>, too.\r\nThe actual decisions on all three of his requests were left to the Hahira Mayor-Council on Thursday, November 7, 2019.\r\nThere appears to be no report in the Valdosta Daily Times,\r\nand <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hahiraga.gov\/municipal-officials\/meeting-minutes\">Hahira has posted no minutes since March<\/a>.\r\n<p>\r\nBack at the Planning Commission, the\r\n<a href=\"#COA-2019-02\">\r\nRemerton new downtown building item<\/a> sailed through in less than five minutes, as did the\r\n<a href=\"#CU-2019-06\">\r\nperson service CUP in Valdosta<\/a>.\r\n<p>\r\nThe \r\n<a href=\"#VA-2019-07\">City of Valdosta request for a rezoning<\/a>\r\nwas controversial, because at least one Commissioner didn&#8217;t like\r\nrezoning without an application by the landowner.\r\nThe\r\n<a href=\"#HA-2019-03\">application for two residential duplexes in Hahira<\/a>\r\nwas mildly controversial because of buffers.\r\n<p>\r\nBelow are links to each LAKE video, followed by a LAKE video playlist.\r\nSee also\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2019\/10\/4-hahira-2-valdosta-1-remerton-glpc-2019-10-28.html\">the agenda<\/a>.\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><a name=\"order\" href=\"#order\">1.
