\r\nSurprise bonds for the Development Authority and Lowndes County Schools,\r\nand a turn lane for Wiregrass Tech, plus a new Forestry Ranger about fire,\r\nin these LAKE videos of yesterday morning’s Lowndes County Commission Work Session.\r\n

\r\nThe longest item was five minutes about\r\n\r\nfunding the Skipper Bridge Withlacoochee River USGS Gauge<\/a>\r\nin addition to the Folsom Bridge Little River Gauge,\r\nby\r\nEMA Director Ashley Tye<\/a>.\r\nValdosta apparently discovered that Skipper Bridge is not in the city limits, so Valdosta will no longer fund that gauge.\r\nBut the former funding from the Suwannee River Water Management District (SRWMD) plus more from Lowndes County will cover it,\r\nif the Lowndes County Commissioners vote for it at 5:30 PM Tonight,\r\nafter their discussion yesterday morning.\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nGeorgia Forestry Ranger Randy Spell talked about the use of a vehicle\r\nin the\r\n\r\nRural Fire Defense Cooperative Lease Agreement And MOU<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nSecond longest was the extremely vague\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nresolution about accepting private roads into the county road system<\/a>,\r\nwhich is basically a long series of criteria that could be considered,\r\nwith no weighting, ranking, or anything to indicate how those criteria\r\nwould be applied.\r\nSo, as before, the Commissioners can pick or refuse any road they like or don’t like.\r\nThey proceeded to discuss\r\n\r\naccepting roads inside several subdivisions<\/a> “we’re growing!”, said the Chairman.\r\n

\r\nThird longest at two minutes was\r\n\r\n$150,000 for a turn lane and a deceleration lane<\/a> for a\r\nnew additional entrance to Wiregrass Tech for its new allied health building.\r\nThat was one of three new agenda items County Manager Joe Pritchard\r\nasked to have added to the agenda for tonight.\r\nThe other two were about bonds,\r\n\r\nfor the Development Authority<\/a>\r\nand for the\r\n\r\nLowndes School system<\/a>.\r\n
