\r\nOn the Lowndes County Commission\r\n\r\nagenda<\/a> for discussion this morning and voting tomorrow evening,\r\nDan Deaver wants to be reappointed to VLPRA<\/a>, and Keith Jackson has also expressed interest in being appointed.\r\n

\r\nLonnie Denton wants to be reappointed to the\r\nLowndes County Division of Family and Children Services Board<\/a>,\r\nand Tonya Davis and Keith Jackson are also interested.\r\n

\r\nThere are two water items, the first of which is not obvious:\r\n\r\n\r\nAnnual Contract for Prison Work Details<\/a>.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nThe current contract with the Georgia Department of Corrections is\r\ndue for renewal. The contract provides (3) work details. The\r\ncontract cost for each detail will be $39,500.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nOne detail is assigned to the Engineering Department for Storm Water\r\nRunoff and the remaining two details are assigned to the Public\r\nWorks Department for maintaining over 5,000 easements.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nThe second is really obvious, and a rare case where the county admits to having caused a sinkhole:\r\nKOA Lift Station Emergency Repair<\/a>\r\n

\r\n

\r\nThe 8″ line between the manhole and lift station wet well has\r\ncollapsed. This has created a sink hole effect with sand filling the\r\nwet well. A new manhole will be set and 40′ of 8″ pipe will be jack\r\nand bored to connect the new manhole to the wet well. RPI, Inc. has\r\nprovided a quote for $49,400.00 to provide the materials and perform\r\nthe work.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nIf you went to the June 10th budget presentation, you saw the county’s\r\nproposed 2020 budget, or you can go look at the one copy on the third floor,\r\nbut it’s not on the county’s website<\/a>,\r\nso you won’t get to see it before they vote on it tomorrow<\/a>.\r\n
