\r\nAppointments to two more Authorities with no prior public notice\r\nnor requests for applicants: the\r\n\r\nHospital Authority<\/a> and the\r\nAirport Authority<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nAbout the Hospital Authority<\/a>:\r\n

\r\n

\r\nHISTORY, FACTS AND ISSUES: The term of Dr. Mary Richardson on the\r\nHospital Authority of Valdosta and Lowndes County will expire on\r\nJune 1, 2019. Ms. Shirley Garland, Mrs. Elsie Napier, and Dr. Mary\r\nMargaret Richardson’s names have all been submitted for appointment.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nFor the \r\nAirport Authority<\/a>, Anthony Payton’s term is up and he wants to be reappointed.\r\n

\r\nLowndes County Commissioners will be hearing about a bunch of purchases and bids.\r\nTwo of them are water items:\r\nGeorgia Department of Transportation – TIA Project Agreement – Hightower Road\/Cooper Road NE Paving and Drainage Improvements<\/a>\r\nand\r\nProfessional Services for Coleman Road Lift Station Force Main Replacement<\/a>.\r\nLook at this about that lift station<\/a>:\r\n

\r\n

\r\nHISTORY, FACTS AND ISSUES: Lowndes County received a Proposal from\r\nLovell Engineering for the engineering and construction plan\r\npreparation for Coleman Road lift station force main replacement.\r\nColeman Road force main has experienced repeated failures and is in\r\nneed of replacement. Coleman Road force main is the beginning of the\r\nmain trunk line that transports waste water from the north Lowndes\r\nregion to the LAS. Costs will be 9% of construction.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nLowndes County is replacing a sewer main because it has failed before.\r\nWait, is this the same main from back in October<\/a>,\r\nwhen Commissioners approved $99,935 to fix<\/a> “The 16\u201d force main between Coleman Road lift station and James Road”?\r\n

\r\nThere are two transportation items:\r\nthat\r\nTIA paving and drainage project<\/a>,\r\nand\r\nProfessional Engineering and Surveying Services for TIA Projects<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nThe two rezonings and the communications tower\r\nfrom the recent \r\nPlanning Commission meeting<\/a> are on \r\nthe agenda<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nNo, we haven’t posted the LAKE videos of that Planning Commission meeting yet.\r\nYes, we will do so soon.\r\nMeanwhile, Lowndes County has its own video equipment and editing software\r\nand could video Planning Commission meetings, and budget meetings,\r\nfor that matter.\r\n
