\r\nAfter Gretchen called Lowndes County yesterday,\r\n\r\nlast month’s GLPC agenda<\/a>\r\nmagically appeared on the county website, along with a\r\n\r\n2019 tab<\/a> for it to appear in.\r\n

\r\nIn addition to a motel, an events center, and an office in\r\nCITY OF VALDOSTA CASES<\/a>,\r\nthe county rezoning \r\nbefore the Lowndes County Commission<\/a> today,\r\n\r\nREZ-2019-04 Southeastern Freight Line<\/a>,\r\nwas\r\n\r\nreviewed by the Planning Commission last month<\/a>:\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n

\r\nThe TRC considered this request. Zoning found this request\r\ninconsistent with the Comprehensive Plan. There were no other\r\nobjectionable comments.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nStaff found\r\n\r\n the request overall consistent with the Goals and\r\nPolicies of the Comprehensive Plan, however, inconsistent with the\r\nCharacter Area Map and offers the following condition: The use of\r\nthe property shall be limited to the principal use of a terminal for\r\nfreight by truck and accessory uses incidental and subordinate to\r\nsuch a facility.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe GLPC heard this request at their February regular meeting and\r\nrecommended for its approval with the condition offered by Staff by\r\na 7-0 vote. For reference, the applicant’s agent was present to\r\nanswer any questions and no one spoke against the request at the\r\npublic hearing.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nI would like to commend Lowndes County for the website redesign.\r\nThe new image at the top now looks like a respectable government,\r\nwith pine trees subtly illustrating the region,\r\ninstead of the old advertisement for four-wheelers.\r\nPlus it loads in less than an eon, so we can get to the useful links\r\nsuch as to agendas.\r\n
