\r\nBe sure that if you are at all successful in opposing a pipeline you\r\nwill get infiltrators, whether FBI or private security. Be prepared\r\nto deal with it, whether by checking backgrounds, or comparing\r\nlists, or by some other methods.\r\n

\r\nOne of the most effective methods\r\nappears to be exposing what the pipeline company and their hired\r\nhands are up to, as The Intercept_<\/em> did about infiltrators at\r\nStanding Rock, using leaks from private security\r\nfirm TigerSwan, which was hired by pipeline company Energy Transfer Partners (ETP)\r\nto “protect” its Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL).\r\n\r\nTHE INFILTRATOR: How an Undercover Oil Industry Mercenary Tricked Pipeline Opponents Into Believing He Was One of Them<\/a>, Alleen Brown, The Intercept_, 30 December 2018,\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nWhat he’s certain of is that the glimmer of opportunity he saw at\r\nthe beginning of the pipeline fight was extinguished when The\r\nIntercept published more than 100 TigerSwan situation reports leaked\r\nby a former operative, revealing the security firm’s extensive\r\nsurveillance efforts, coordination with law enforcement, and\r\ncomparisons of water protectors to jihadi fighters. …\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nHe remembers thinking at one time, “If they watch their p’s\r\nand q’s, they will be the standard. They’ll be the company that\r\neverybody’s gonna use.” The former contractor laughed.\r\n“That didn’t happen.”\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nDAPL is a petroleum products pipeline, but we heard some of the same\r\n\r\n\r\nslander related to the Sabal Trail fracked methane pipeline.\r\nPlus ETP tried to buy Williams Company, the pipeline company of\r\nthe Transco Hillabee Expansion Project, one of the three parts\r\nalong with Sabal Trail of the Southeast Market Pipelines Project.\r\n

\r\nExpose the bad actions of the pipeline companies and the fossil fuel\r\nindustry; don’t give them actions they can use against you.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
