There was not a clear dedication of \r\nwhat the use was going to be for.\r\nThere was discussion that it was going to be for a\r\nboys home or some detention type of facility.\r\nIt was definitely not for an assisted living facility.\r\n<p>\r\nRimrock will be the developer of this property.\r\nThey&#8217;ve done a number of these facilities all around.\r\nTheir intent is to build these facilities close to where people live.\r\nIf you&#8217;re going to have an assisted living facility,\r\nyou&#8217;re going to have to put a loved one in an assisted living facility,\r\nthey&#8217;re going to want to build it close to where people live,\r\nclose by where people live and work, on the way home&#8230;.\r\nThey&#8217;d like for it to be as convenient as possible.\r\nThey&#8217;d like to put it next to the nice residential,\r\nand work next door, in the North Wind complex&#8230;.\r\nfit in the character of the area&#8230;.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p style=\"font-style:normal\">\r\nCommissioner Scottie Orenstein asked him to &ldquo;share the results\r\nof the ZBOA meeting today.&rdquo;\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nThere was a variance request.\r\nIn our ordinance we have a 100-foot side and rear setbacks.\r\nWe can meet the rear setback,\r\nBut the property as you showed\r\nis very long but very narrow.\r\nAnd if you take 100 feet off each side\r\nthere&#8217;s really not much left in the middle of the property.\r\nIt&#8217;s only a couple of acres left in the middle.\r\nAnd to build the type of facility they need,\r\nthey can&#8217;t build it with that 100-foot setback.\r\n<p>\r\nWe requested a 50-foot setback\r\nvariance to either side.\r\nWhich is still quite a bit more&#8230; Langdale Place has\r\nmaybe a 20-foot buffer in the back of it and it&#8217;s right\r\nnext to single-family residential.\r\nAnd other assisted living facilities have much less\r\nsetback requirements.\r\n25 feet is kind of normal for this\r\ntype of facility in other areas.\r\nBut for some reason with the new ordinance we had a 100-foot setback.\r\n<p>\r\nThat was reduced to fifty foot\r\nby the Zoning Board of Appeals this afternoon.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p style=\"font-style:normal\">\r\nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall:\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nIn regards to detention centers or boy homes or what have you,\r\nis this the correct language in a sense, or what would be the proper\r\nlanguage to use?\r\nShould we put any language in there that would prevent\r\ndetention centers or anything that might be\r\nof concern in that area?\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p style=\"font-style:normal\">\r\nChairman Slaughter:\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nWell, I think at this point just removing that restriction\r\nthat was put on it earlier is what the actual request is.\r\nI really wouldn&#8217;t see a need in modifying\r\nthat actual request when we actually have a plan here that is\r\ngoing to be an assisted living facility.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p style=\"font-style:normal\">\r\nCommissioner Marshall:\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nI just wanted to be clear on it &#8217;cause I know the concern earlier\r\nwas about a boys home or something like that, detention center.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p style=\"font-style:normal\">\r\n<p>\r\nCommissioner Scottie Orenstein moved to approve the request as presented.\r\nMarshall seconded.\r\nAll voted aye.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<li>\r\n<a name=\"N-8-a-Approval-of-Increase-in-Approval-Limits\" href=\"#N-8-a-Approval-of-Increase-in-Approval-Limits\">\r\n      8 a.
