Quarterman for LAKE, the Lowndes Area Knowledge Exchange.\n<\/small>\n<p>\nCongratulations on the\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/05\/putting-power-on-the-grid-at-wiregrass-solar-commissioning.html\">\nWiregrass Solar commissioning.<\/a>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/05\/putting-power-on-the-grid-at-wiregrass-solar-commissioning.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5169\/5724944716_ed7824c613_m.jpg\"><\/a>\nSince this was not ever the largest array in Georgia let&#8217;s encourage\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/05\/the-city-says-solar-is-the-future-wctv.html\">Mayor Fretti and Commissioner Powell<\/a>\nto help VLCIA\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/05\/expanding-wiregrass-solar-alden-hathaway-of-sterling-planet.html\">\nexpand the local array.<\/a>\n<p>\nReferring to Mary Gooding&#8217;s\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/05\/minutes-online-vlcia-17-may-2011.html\">\ncomments about people who wanted to see minutes probably going to be\nfrustrated,<\/a>\nI pointed out that\n\n<!--more-->\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/05\/minutes-online-vlcia-17-may-2011.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/i2.ytimg.com\/vi\/MtfJsuJn9AQ\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\nthe agendas don&#8217;t even include the names of the projects\nbeing considered, and as one of the people being satisfied,\nI wouldn&#8217;t be satisfied with minutes that didn&#8217;t have the\nnames of the projects because I want to know which projects\nwere considered and which of those actually happened.\n<p>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/04\/about-those-minutes-bobbi-anne-hancock-vlcia-19-april-2011.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5310\/5638126384_2931b5af73_m.jpg\"><\/a>\nI offered to find examples of economic development organizations elsewhere\nthat post minutes; the example I had at the time was the one in\nAlbany, New York.\n<p>\nI think it would be a lot less trouble all around if they&#8217;d just publish\ntheir minutes and be done with it.\n<p>\nMore information is available about\nProject XL or Excel (I still don&#8217;t know how it&#8217;s spelled)\nthan CCA has told VLCIA.\nFor example,\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/03\/how-can-both-lowndes-and-decatur-counties-think-theyre-getting-a-private-prison.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/www.thepostsearchlight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/userphoto\/carolheard.jpg\"><\/a>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/03\/how-can-both-lowndes-and-decatur-counties-think-theyre-getting-a-private-prison.html\">\nCCA expects to put a private prison in both Lowndes\nand Decatur Counties,<\/a> so that stuff we&#8217;ve been hearing about\nLowndes being the primary site is meaningless.\nI will boil down what I&#8217;ve\npreviously written on that to a couple of page for the VLCIA board.\n<p>\nThanks to\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/04\/im-all-for-openness-tom-call.html\">\neach board member<\/a> for\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/04\/talk-to-my-chairman-vlcia-board-members.html\">\ntalking to me.<\/a>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/localappt.php#JerryJennett\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/php\/include\/govt\/vlcia\/jerry.jpg\"><\/a>\nPeople who have read what I attempted to transcribe were quite appreciative.\nLooking forward to talking to the fifth member,\nChairman Jerry Jennett.\n(He exited the building immediately after the meeting adjourned,\nso I do not yet have anything scheduled.)\n<p>\nFinally, I publicly apologized to Norman Bennett for\nforgetting about a scheduled meeting with him.\nThat seemed to amuse the board members.\nNorman Bennett said he&#8217;d give me another chance.\n(He&#8217;d already said that on the telephone.)\nI&#8217;ll take him up on it.\n<p>\n-jsq\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Here&#8217;s what I said to the VLCIA board on 17 May 2011.
