Let’s leapfrog Thomasville in the 21st century equivalent of roads, rail, and airports: Internet speeds!<\/p>\n

\nHere’s another point from Chris Miller at the

\naccording to the VDT story by Dawn Castro 18 May 2011,

\nso the process of moving products quickly was not possible,”
\nhe said, “With Rose Net hi-speed broadband, it is now able to
\nwork 25 times faster.
\nThat one simple step boosted economic product growth,
\nand as we all know, the technical industry creates a
\nwage growth path.”\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nSo if the Chamber wants, as it says,

\nknowledge-based businesses and jobs<\/a>,<\/p>\n


\nmaybe it should work to get us out of

\nthe Internet backwoods<\/a>.
\nNotice Thomas County prominently faster on that map than Lowndes County.

\nso doubtless he understands the regulatory capture games the duopoly
\nplays to keep selling us substandard speeds, and how to leapfrog that
\nto real connectivity.<\/p>\n

\nAs previously mentioned, if we’re going to copy Chattanooga about something,
\nhow about not their useless
\n
\nschool consolidation<\/a>, and instead
\n
\ntheir gigabit Internet.<\/a>
\nPosting this stuff sure would be easier even on Thomasville’s 22 Mbps
\ndown 3Mbps up CNS than on AT&T’s allegedly 3Mbps down 0.3Mbps up DSL,
\nwhich really gets more like 2Mbps down 0.15Mbps up much of the time.<\/p>\n

\nVLCIA brags about the
\n
\ntransportation advantages<\/a> of
\nI-75 and I-10 and the airport and rail connections.
\nHow about we speed up so we can brag about the 21st century equivalent
\nof those things: Internet connectivity.<\/p>\n

\nAnyway, congratulations again to the Chamber for holding the 2011 Economic Summit.<\/p>\n
