Without funding from the fees, many local governments\r\noften have to raise taxes to fund the programs designed to keep\r\nresidents healthy and safe.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nHR-158 is currently in review by the House Ways and Means Committee.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nIf the General Assembly adopts a resolution on the issue during the\r\n2018 legislative session, a constitutional amendment could be put\r\nbefore the voters in November.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p style=\"font-style:normal\">\r\nAnd HR 158 was voted out of the Ways and Means Committee ontothe floor of the House yesterday.\r\nPreviously, Lanier County, Adel, Atkinson County, and now Lowndes County supported it.
