\n\nFormer Council Member Jeff Spradley in the audience\n<\/small>\n<\/center>\n<\/td><\/tr><\/table>\nAt their 3 May 2011 meeting, the\n\nLake Park City Council<\/a>\nacknowledged that one of their number had moved out of the\ncity limits and resigned, so they had to decide whether\nto hold a special election or just wait until the November\nregular election.\nAfter long deliberation, which seemed to be decided by the\nprecedent of Dasher going ahead with a special election,\n\nLake Park decided this:<\/a>\n

\n\nMayor Walter K. Sandlin,\nCouncil Member Ronald Carter,\nCouncil Member Eric Schindler,\nCity Attorney Rob Plumb,\nMayor Pro-Tem Council Member Paul Mulkey\n<\/small>\n<\/center>\n<\/td><\/tr><\/table>\nDue to the resignation of Council Member Spradley\n
\na Special Election will be held\n
\nSeptember 20, 2011 to fill the vacancy.\n
\nQualifying period will open on June 1st and end\n
\n12 noon on June 3rd.\n
\nThere is a qualifying fee of $54.00.\n
\nWe have no wards. All positions are “at large”.\n

\nIncidentally, the entire council is up for election in November,\nincluding whoever wins the special election will have to run again in November\nif they want to stay on the council.\n

\nIn that and other business, it is quite interesting watching this city council\ninteract rather informally with citizens, yet taking some care\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n

\nto ensure\nthat nobody monopolizes the conversation.\nOther local city councils might want to watch and take notes.\n
