Lappin\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/06\/new-cca-cco-is-former-director-of-federal-bureau-of-prisons.html\">\nretire from his former cushy job\nas Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons?<\/a>\nIt might have something to do with being charged with a crime.\n<p>\nAccording to\n<a href=\"http:\/\/tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com\/harley-g-lappin\/2011\/03\/\">\nRyan J. Reilly at TMPMuckracker 30 March 2011,<\/a>\n<blockquote>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com\/harley-g-lappin\/2011\/03\/\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/www.talkingpointsmemo.com\/assets_c\/2011\/03\/harley-lappin-cropped-proto-custom_6.jpg\"><\/a>\nLappin was pulled over less than a half mile from his house at 3:59\na.m. on Feb. 26, the website reported. He&#8217;s been charged with driving\nwhile under the influence, reckless driving, negligent driving and\nfailure to obey the instructions of a traffic-control device, according\nto the news website. A spokeswoman said that Lappin informed his staff\nof the arrest.\n<p>\nLappin will be due in court on June 16, a little over a month after his\nresignation becomes effective on May 7.\n<\/blockquote>\nWell, that will be interesting, to see if\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/06\/new-cca-cco-is-former-director-of-federal-bureau-of-prisons.html\">\nthe new private prison czar<\/a>\ngets off or ends up a felon.\n<p>\nCCA is the company that wants to build a private prison in Lowndes County, Georgia.\nSpend that tax money on education, instead.\n<p>\n-jsq\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"At 55, why would Harley G.
