As a precaution, the Board of Education\r\nproperty was accessed by responders. No evidence of contamination\r\nwas present. A follow up visit to the area later this morning\r\nreports the odor was no longer present.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nThank you, EMA Lowndes, for responding, and on a weekend, too.\r\n<p>\r\nHowever, people couldn&#8217;t get home that night.\r\n<p style=\"text-align:center;font-size:80%\">\r\n<a title=\"ADM Adopt-A-Street, From Howell Road\" href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/?attachment_id=19341\">\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border:none\" id=\"19343\" width=\"600\" height=\"323\" alt=\"ADM Adopt-A-Street, From Howell Road\" src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/15df98daa6e84cc5a923894602b7927c.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<br>\r\nAdopt-A-Street ADM, Clay Road north from Howell Road\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/@30.8193569,-83.2517083,3a,55.7y,15.81h,84.17t\/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sReoPyxKJ8aQ9dZbOPB0NFQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656\">google street view<\/a>.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nI still think it would be good to\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/wwals.net\/2017\/11\/04\/heavy-manufacturing-near-chemical-leak-upstream-from-knights-creek-2017-11-03\/\">check with nearby industry<\/a>.\r\nMaybe start with<!--more-->\r\n\r\n Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), which is just past the school bus in the above google street view,\r\nnorth up Clay Road from Howell Road, past the Adopt-A-Street sign saying ADM.\r\nPerhaps the Industrial Authority could help with that.\r\n<p>\r\nWhat did Valdosta Utilities have to say?\r\nTheir sewer lines drain the heavy industry up Clay Road,\r\nincluding ADM.\r\nDid anybody test Knights Creek for contamination?\r\n<p>\r\nThe <a href=\"http:\/\/www.valdostadailytimes.com\/news\/local_news\/chemical-leak-reported-off-clay-road\/article_7a3db6f4-c110-11e7-b9f2-575e529f2739.html\">\r\nVDT story<\/a> promised,\r\n&ldquo;The Valdosta Daily Times will provide updates as additional information is gathered.&rdquo;\r\nBut that story has not been updated.\r\n<p>\r\nMeanwhile, elsewhere a story has appeared and has been updated.\r\nDesiree Carver, Valdosta Today, 4 November 2017,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/valdostatoday.com\/2017\/11\/reports-of-strange-odor-closed-parts-of-clay-road-friday-night\/\">\r\nREPORTS OF STRANGE ODOR CLOSE PARTS OF CLAY ROAD FRIDAY NIGHT<\/a>,\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\nFrom Ashley Tye last night:\r\n<p>\r\n&ldquo;At 7:10 pm a citizen called 911 to report an unidentifiable\r\nodor in the area of Clay and Howell Roads. According to Lowndes\r\nCounty Emergency Management Director, Ashley Tye, multiple public\r\nsafety agencies are currently conducting an investigation to\r\ndetermine the origin of the odor. As a precaution, citizens in the\r\narea are being asked to remain inside with doors and windows\r\nclosed.&rdquo;\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nLowndes County Clerk Paige Dukes said &ldquo;They rode the area\r\nagain this morning &amp; the odor had dissipated.
