Those who had participated in an early childhood<br \/>\nprogram beginning at age 3 showed higher levels of educational attainment,<br \/>\nsocioeconomic status, job skills, and health insurance coverage as well<br \/>\nas lower rates of substance abuse, felony arrest, and incarceration than<br \/>\nthose who received the usual early childhood services.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Among the detailed findings for the study group:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>\n28 percent fewer abused drugs and alcohol; 21 percent fewer males alone<\/p>\n<li>\n22 percent fewer had a felony arrest; the difference was 45 percent for children of high school dropouts<\/p>\n<li>\n28 percent fewer had experienced incarceration or jail\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\nHere&#8217;s<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencemag.org\/content\/early\/2011\/06\/08\/science.1203618\"><br \/>\nthe journal article:<br \/>\nArthur J.
