Savannah Ave\r\n<p>\r\nThe first workshop will cover the following topics:\r\n<p style=\"text-align:center;font-size:80%;font-style:italic\">\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/wwals.net\/blog\/pictures\/2017-08-17--sgrc-regional-plan-workbook\/big\/847de1862c4c1de0a4579d3fd832ea36-0092.html\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\"\r\nalt=\"Regional Bicycle Corridors\"\r\n style=\"border:none\" src=\"http:\/\/wwals.net\/blog\/pictures\/2017-08-17--sgrc-regional-plan-workbook\/847de1862c4c1de0a4579d3fd832ea36-0092.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<br>\r\nRegional Bicycle Corridors\r\n<\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li> Review the existing issues and opportunities within the Region\r\nand determine whether<!--more-->\r\n\r\n they are still applicable or if any changes\r\n(deletions, additions, modifications) need to be made. The sections\r\nconcerning Education and Senior Services &amp; Aging do not contain\r\nany issues and opportunities as of yet (they were not part of the\r\noriginal Regional Plan), and will therefore need to be developed.\r\n<li> Based on the revised issues and opportunities for all sections\r\n(Economic Development, Natural &amp; Cultural Resources, Community\r\nFacilities &amp; Services, Housing, Land Use &amp; Transportation,\r\nIntergovernmental Coordination, Education, Senior Services &amp;\r\nAging) we will need to develop corresponding Regional Goals for each\r\nelement. This is an exciting opportunity to express your vision for\r\nthe Region in the form of specific goals to be reached in the next\r\n10 years.\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<p>\r\nA copy of the Regional Plan Workbook is available for download on our website\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sgrc.us\">\r\nwww.sgrc.us<\/a>, you can request it from us directly via email, and we will bring hard copies to the workshop.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nThere&#8217;s also a copy <a href=\"http:\/\/wwals.net\/blog\/pictures\/2017-08-17--sgrc-regional-plan-workbook\/\/\">on wwals.net<\/a> with the maps pulled out into small, large, and huge images plus a one-page PDF for each.\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\nWe are hoping that you all will be able to come to bring and share\r\nyour communities&#8217; knowledge, experience and input to the new\r\nRegional Plan to make it truly regional and applicable to all. The\r\nfollowing workshops in the three or four workshop series all will\r\nbuild upon each other, so we hope that you will be able to attend\r\nall. State Bicycle\r\nRoutes 10, 15, and 20 pass through the region, as does the proposed\r\nU.S. Bike Route 15. In addition, several counties have locally\r\ndesignated bicycle routes.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nMode choice is generally limited throughout the entire region\r\n(except in a few select areas, depending on trip destination and\r\norigin), due to the overall lack of sidewalks, lack of bicycle\r\ninfrastructure, and lack of public transit services.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\n -jsq\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align:center;font-style:italic\">Investigative reporting costs money, for open records requests, copying, web hosting, gasoline, and cameras, and with sufficient funds we can pay students to do further research.
