\nResponding to \nGeorge Rhynes’ point<\/a>,\nI said that while I had recommended moving Citizens to be Heard to the\nend of the agenda, it never occured to me that it might get moved\n\n<\/a>\nafter Council Comments, which did lead to an impression that Council\ndid not want to hear and did not plan to respond.\nI noted that if Council videoed its own proceedings and put them on the web,\nthat would help make the problem moot.\nI’m thinking videos distributed by the City Council itself would probably\n\n<\/a>\nget\nmore citizens viewing them than ones distributed by bloggers like me and\nGeorge and by LAKE.\n

\nMy main point was that, even though Brad Lofton and Col. Ricketts apparently\nnever told Mayor Fretti, there was a larger solar array in\n\n\n\nDalton, Georgia<\/a>\nbefore the Wiregrass Solar plant was built, and there’s an even larger one\nnow in\n\nBlairsville.<\/a>\nSo,\n\n<\/a>\nas I already mentioned to the VLCIA board,<\/a> it’s time to take up\nMayor Fretti’s claim of competitiveness and\n\n<\/a>\n\ncome back and expand<\/a>\nthe Wiregrass Solar array.\n\n<\/a>\n\nAlden Hathaway of Sterling Planet<\/a> knows how and\n\n<\/a>\nPete Marte of Hannah Solar<\/a>\nstands ready<\/a> to add another megawatt.\nas phase 2.<\/a>\n<\/a>\nChairman Sonny Murphy of Sterling Planet refers to that expansion\nas phase 2.<\/a>\nSo, Mayor Fretti and Commissioner Powell, over to you!\n

\nMayor Fretti usually interacts\na bit when I speak there, but this time he did not look up\nonce except to check the timer. Maybe he didn’t like me\ncalling them the\n\nCouncil of Hamlets<\/a>\nin my post earlier that same day.\nWhen the only three citizens who stand up to be heard all ask for\nmore transparency, I’m thinking the council has maybe not done\nenough to dispel the Hamlet monicker.\n
