{"id":1905,"date":"2011-06-15T08:10:18","date_gmt":"2011-06-15T12:10:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2011\/06\/vlcia-land-accounting.html"},"modified":"2011-06-15T08:10:18","modified_gmt":"2011-06-15T12:10:18","slug":"vlcia-land-accounting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2011\/06\/vlcia-land-accounting.html","title":{"rendered":"VLCIA land accounting"},"content":{"rendered":"<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1BC9CL1zm4E\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/i2.ytimg.com\/vi\/1BC9CL1zm4E\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\nChairman Jerry Jennett is asking for an accounting of the land\nVLCIA has bought\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/06\/how-did-lowndes-county-approve-a-contract-with-vlcia-that-could-force-raising-taxes.html\">\nusing their $3 million a year in dedicated 1 mil property tax\nand $15 million in bonds that Lowndes County guaranteed for them.<\/a>\nAnd it seems that much of it is in lots too small to be useful.\n<p>\nWhile the VLCIA board was approving minutes for their 17 May 2011\nregular meeting, Chairman Jennett said this:\n<blockquote>\nOn the last page, where we&#8217;re talking about the industrial park acreage,\nthis is real good the way you&#8217;ve presented this,\nit shows\nAzalea West 17 acres\nLake Park 10,\nHahira 10,\n[?] 165,\nMiller 220,\nWest Side 155.\n<p>\nLet me ask you that in future you do one more thing.\nThat you tell me\nhow many 100 acre sites you have,\nhow many 50 acre sites you have,\nand how many 25 acre sites you have,\n<p>\n[Col. Ricketts made some response.]\n<p>\nThen I&#8217;m going to assume that everything else is ones, fives, and tens.\nAnd my point would be that we track those,\nand that when someone comes with a project that and they need 200 acres,\nwe can&#8217;t do it.\nBut I think there might be room for at least one and maybe two 100s.\nI think that&#8217;s important when we think about people&#8230;.\n<\/blockquote>\nIt&#8217;s good Chairman Jennett is having Col.
