\r\nVALDOSTA — The Valdosta Regional Airport is installing solar\r\npanels.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe energy produced by the panels will go to Georgia Power, Airport\r\nManager Jim Galloway said. Georgia Power will also maintain the\r\npanels and the land.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nGalloway said he has received positive feed back from residents who\r\nhave seen the panels. He said he wants to get the energy production\r\nnumbers from panels and display the information in the terminal. He\r\nhad not reached out to Georgia Power about the information by the\r\ntime of the Airport Authority meeting this week.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\n\r\nValdosta-Lowndes County Airport Authority<\/a>:\r\n

\r\n

\r\nValdosta Regional Airport is owned and operated by the\r\nValdosta-Lowndes County Airport Authority. This six-member authority\r\nwas established in 1987 and is comprised of three appointees from\r\nthe city and three appointees from the county. The staff of the\r\nAuthority consists of the executive director\/airport manager and\r\nnine additional full\/part-time employees. The Valdosta-Lowndes\r\nCounty Airport Authority meets the second Wednesday of every month\r\nat 8:00 a.m. in the airport conference room located in the airport\r\nmanager’s office in the commercial terminal. The meetings are open\r\nto the public. The following personnel are members of the Airport\r\nAuthority:\r\n<\/p>\r\n
