\nI beg to differ with Mr. Pritchard\u2019s opinion regarding “malicious
\nintent”.<\/p>\n

\nLowndes County Manager Joe Pritchard says, “I don’t believe through
\nour investigation, nor through any info we received from the Department
\nof Ag, are able to indicate any malicious intent.”<\/p>\n

\nMr. Pritchard should understand that it matters not if this was done
\nwith “malicious intent” or not. “Malicous intent” should be
\ndetermined by the investigating criminal agency, not a county manager.
\n“Malicious Intent” is only important in determining whether the
\ncrime should be filed as a felony, or a misdemeanor.<\/p>\n

\nThe law is crystal clear regarding the denial of necessary medical care,
\nand\/or humane euthanasia, for any animal deemed to be in need of such. Any
\ntime a shelter impounds\/houses a live animal, the shelter is required,
\nby law, to afford that animal with humane care \u2013 to include necessary
\nmedical care or treatment.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The blogger then goes on to quote Georgia Code, which only brings
\nin the word “maliciously” for higher fines or imprisonment
\nfor aggravated cruelty to animals.<\/p>\n

\nIf this incident has accurately been confirmed, why is a county manager
\nmaking criminal investigational decisions \u2013 is that not the duty of
\nthe Lowndes County Sheriff\u2019s Office?<\/p>\n

\nIt has been reported that the AC Officer, who intially filed the
\ncomplaint, has now been (mandatorily) transferred to the Lowndes County
\nRecycling Center.<\/p>\n

\nThis situation is starting to reek of that infamous
\n“good old boy” aroma.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nThe blogger then goes on to list a long series of things that
\nare plainly against the law that have been alleged to have happened
\nat the Lowndes County Animal Shelter.<\/p>\n

\nSeems to me the law needs to look into that.

\nalmost a month now since Jane Osborn asked the sheriff’s office to look into it<\/a> and apparently nothing has been done.<\/p>\n
