Quarterman for LAKE, the Lowndes Area Knowledge Exchange.\n<\/small>\n<p>\nWhat I actually recommended regarding VSEB, in response to\na specific request from Leigh Touchton for recommendations,\nwas maybe schedule a meeting with Roy Copeland to talk about\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/05\/how-to-get-public-officials-to-respond-to-the-citizens.html\">\nVSEB and solar job opportunities:<\/a>\n\n<!--more-->\n<blockquote>\nFor Leigh Touchton and the NAACP, a specific suggestion: Roy Copeland is\nvery interested in Valdosta Small Emerging Business (VSEB), the program\nJohn Robinson has been promoting at Valdosta City Council meetings\nlately. Roy Copeland has asked me why NAACP doesn&#8217;t get more involved\nin promoting that program. Maybe there&#8217;s even a way to connect VSEB and\nUSDA&#8217;s REAP. Hannah Solar is great, but there&#8217;s no reason even more local\ncompanies can&#8217;t do the same thing; Pete Marte knows this; I&#8217;ve had this\ndiscussion with him. Solar in south Georgia is a big enough opportunity\nthat the pie will expand to have enough for many companies.
