Nathan Deal said\n<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ajc.com\/political-insider-jim-galloway\/2011\/01\/10\/nathan-deal-drug-addiction-draining-our-treasury\/\">\nwe can&#8217;t afford to lock up non-violent drug offenders.<\/a>\nIn April Gov. Deal\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/04\/sentence-reform-in-georgia.html\">signed a bill to create a panel to overhaul sentencing laws.<\/a>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2011\/04\/19\/marijuana-legalization-public-support-growing_n_851238.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/big.assets.huffingtonpost.com\/pewmarijuana.png\"><\/a>\nPublic opinion\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2011\/04\/19\/marijuana-legalization-public-support-growing_n_851238.html\">\nis almost to the majority nationwide<\/a> for legalization,\naccording to the Pew Research Center.\n<p>\nPrivate prisons have no business plan, because the majority of their\n&#8220;customers&#8221; are in danger of not getting locked up.\nWe don&#8217;t need a private prison in Lowndes County, Georgia.\nSpend that tax money on rehabilitation and education instead.\n<p>\n-jsq\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Has anyone else noticed that even sitting big name politicians are saying things only one step short of just legalize it?
