\nHe doesn’t take all the credit;\nhe has the city council stand up and he recognizes the city manager,\nalong with the previous mayor and a long list of other people.\nHe credits former mayor Henry Cisneros with starting thinking about:\n

\nLinking our inherent assets with job creation and the creation of opportunity.\n<\/blockquote>\nKind of like what \nBen Copeland recommended for our area.<\/a>\n

\nAs Mayor Castro said:\n

\nOur dreams for or city can no longer be small.\nThey must be big.\nBut not just big dreams in terms of job creation.\nBut also in that component that has\nhas been so lacking over the generations…\nhigh end research.\nAnd as well we’ll see a tremendous benefit to our environment.\nIt’s the combination of those things that truly makes this special and unique.\nSan Antonio it can be said today is not a follower, but a leader.\n<\/blockquote>\nThen he thanked both nonprofits and the business community\nand still more people.\n

\nThe opportunity presents itself for Valdosta and Lowndes County\nto truly benefit south Georgia for generations to come,\nby turning away from fossil fuels and towards solar and wind,\nproducing jobs, improving health, and a sustainable economy.\nWho will help seize this opportunity?\n
