\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nNot on the agenda this morning:\r\n\r\nPublic Works is applying to GA-EPD for a grant<\/a> for\r\ntire disposal amnesty.\r\n11 of 18 counties have voted to hold a\r\nRegional T-SPLOST referendum<\/a>,\r\nand Lowndes County now needs to decide whether to support or oppose that: they vote Tuesday at 5:30 PM.\r\n

\r\nCounty Manager Joe Pritchard asked why all the lift station pump repairs.\r\nUtilities Director Steve Stalvey said the county has 114 lift station pumps,\r\nall either duplex or triplex, with the duplication very important to maintain\r\nservice.\r\nThey typically last about 15-20 years,\r\nthere were periods when money was short and maintenance was slack,\r\nand quite a few of them are coming to end of life,\r\nmost recently this one\r\n\r\nat US 84<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nThey spent the longest time, 3 3\/4 minutes, on\r\nthe\r\n\r\n REZ-2017-04 Rieffel<\/a> rezoning to CON and E-A for animals,\r\nat 3621 SE Johnson Road,\r\nwhich is just north of Mud Swamp Creek, which downstream joins with\r\nGrand Bay Creek to form the Alapahoochee River, which flows into the Alapaha,\r\ninto the Suwannee, into the Gulf.\r\nAbout the other rezoning,\r\nREZ-2017-05 Jay Carter<\/a>, from R-A to R-1,\r\nCounty Planner Jason Davenport this time said the applicant planned to build\r\nan additional house on the remnant.\r\n

\r\nOf the\r\n\r\napplicants<\/a>\r\nfor the\r\n\r\ntwo ZBOA slots<\/a>,\r\nonly Gretchen Quarterman (incumbent ZBOA vice-Chair)\r\nand Victoria Copeland (a realtor)\r\nshowed up this morning at the Work Session of the Lowndes County Commission,\r\nand neither were invited to speak.\r\n, Michael Cooper and Mike Elkins were not present, and\r\nDr. Willie Houseal does not wish to be reappointed.\r\n

\r\nAnd it looks like the\r\n\r\nNaylor Community Center<\/a>\r\nmay get built before the Alapaha River Boat Ramp, which was on the same SPLOST VII ballot.\r\n
