\nConcerned Citizen,\n\nPlease understand that there are state laws that people get arrested for\neach day also; the county ordiance mirrors the state law(s) however if\nyou have not read the statements no one was arrested either. And do you\nthink the bulldog was the first incident? Keep reading!! Below are some\nother things which have occured in the shelter.\n

\nto name a few of the Lowndes County Ordinance.\n\nSo when you say why didn’t I(Officer Leavens)end\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n
\nthis animals suffering;\nI tried following the chian of command, read the open records. Also,\nthe county manager said “were updating the SOP to meet GDA requirments”!\n\nState Statues 4-11-10 Unlawful acts by licensed persons.\n
\nIt shall be unlawful for any person licensed under this article or any\nperson employed by a person licensed under this article or under such\nperson’s supervision or control to:\n\n
- \nCommit a violation of Code Section 16-12-4, relating to cruelty to animals;\n
- \nFail to keep the pet dealership premises, animal shelter, kennel, or\nstable in a good state of repair, in a clean and sanitary condition,\nadequately ventilated, or disinfected when needed;\n
- \nFail to provide humane care for any animal; or\n
- \nFail to take reasonable care to release for sale, trade, or adoption\nonly those animals that appear to be free of disease, injuries, or\nabnormalities.\n<\/ol>\n4-11-9.3 Caring for an impounded animal.\n
\n(a) It shall be the duty of any person impounding an animal under Code\nSection 4-11-9.2 to make reasonable and proper arrangements to provide the\nimpounded animal with humane care and adequate and necessary veterinary\nservices. Such arrangements may include, but shall not be limited to,\nproviding shelter and care for the animal at any state, federal, county,\nmunicipal, or governmental facility or shelter; contracting with a private\nindividual, partnership, corporation, association, or other entity\nto provide humane care and adequate and necessary veterinary services\nfor a reasonable fee; or allowing a private individual, partnership,\ncorporation, association, or other entity to provide humane care and\nadequate and necessary veterinary services as a volunteer and at no cost.\n\nI am not a supervisor, people have been repremanded for doing “things”\non there own and not addressing the supervisor first… read the\nstatements… two other employees also told the director awaiting her\napproval(chain of command) for vet care\/euthansia.\n
