\r\nThe Valdosta City Council heard from citizens about\r\n\r\ncoal ash<\/a>,\r\n\r\nwastewater<\/a>,\r\nand\r\n\r\ntoxic waste in the landfill<\/a>.\r\nMayor John Gayle\r\n\r\noffered to answer later in his office Eric Howard’s\r\nquestion about wastewater in his yard<\/a>.\r\nThe Mayor expressed his opinion that he and the council\r\n\r\ncouldn’t do anything about the landfill<\/a>,\r\nand read for yourself what he said about\r\n\r\nthe Florida county resolutions about Valdosta wastewater<\/a>.\r\nGeorge Boston Rhynes\r\n\r\ntold a droll tale about a dead cat and turkeys<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nThe\r\n\r\nHistoric Preservation appeal<\/a> was long and contentious,\r\nwith the Mayor twice breaking a tie because only four City Council members\r\nwere there: the appeal was approved.\r\nA citizen\r\n\r\nspoke about that afterwards<\/a>, as did\r\n\r\nCouncil Tim Carroll<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nCouncil Robert Yost recommended\r\n\r\nall the Hospital Authority Board should resign<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nThey unanimously approved\r\n\r\nboth<\/a>\r\nof the\r\n\r\nrezoning<\/a> items; ditto the\r\n\r\nright of way maintenance bids<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nAnd\r\n\r\nFirefighter Michael Penland<\/a> is employee of the month.\r\n
