The primary focus of the\r\ngroup is the protection of and community support for Moody AFB.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p style=\"font-style:normal\">\r\nThe Chairman said he was there to discuss the county&#8217;s\r\nWastewater P4 agreement with Moody AFB.\r\nHm, apparently it took Moody to convince the county to un-privatize something\r\ninstead of privatizing it like they did with solid waste disposal.\r\nAirman 1st Class Janiqua P. Robinson, 23d Wing Public Affairs, 5 October 2016,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.moody.af.mil\/News\/ArticleDisplay\/tabid\/5991\/Article\/964667\/moody-finalizes-dod-initiative.aspx\">\r\nMoody finalizes DOD initiative<\/a>,\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nVALDOSTA, Ga. &mdash; Moody Air Force Base celebrated during a\r\nhistorical ceremony for the transfer of the Water and Wastewater\r\nTreatment Plant from a private contractor to Lowndes County, Oct. 3,\r\nin Valdosta, Ga.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nIt&#8217;s taken three and a half years for this project to come to\r\nfruition, but Moody is leading from the front by becoming the first\r\nbase in the Department of Defense to gain approval for an\r\ninter-governmental service agreement with a municipality for a\r\nutility.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nThe DOD selected Moody as one of 13 prototype Air Force\r\ninstallations to take part in the public-public, public-private, or\r\nP4 initiative. The P4 initiative is used as a tool for maximizing\r\noperational effectiveness and minimizing costs.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n&ldquo;[The P4 initiative allows] different agencies in the\r\ncommunity to work with the DOD to see what we have in common so that\r\nwe can work together and create win-win situations with the base and\r\ncommunity,&rdquo; said Bill Slaughter, the Lowndes County Commission\r\nchairman. &ldquo;It&#8217;s going to help Lowndes County by providing\r\nanother source of water for citizens in the North Lowndes County\r\ncommunities but all around, it saves money for everyone.&rdquo;\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nThrough the P4 initiative, which encourages Air Force installations\r\nto partner with local governments, Moody and Lowndes County created\r\nthe Moody Community Partnership Committee or MCPC.
