\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nBack on the agenda<\/a> this morning,\r\n\r\nthe Old Quitman Road Bridge replacement over the CSX RR<\/a> has been\r\ndiscussed since at least 2011 when it was on the T-SPLOST list<\/a>,\r\nand in\r\n\r\nSeptember 2016 it came up for discussion again<\/a>,\r\nand the Commission approved surveying and engineering<\/a>.\r\nLast month they\r\n\r\n discussed the plans, drawings, etc.<\/a>,\r\nand approved those<\/a>.\r\nSee this\r\n\r\nplaylist of LAKE videos of this item in previous meetings<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nThis morning’s item for voting tomorrow evening is\r\n\r\na right of entry agreement with CSX<\/a>,\r\nwhich the agenda sheet<\/a> says is to allow Lowndes County Engineering\r\n“and their professional service consultants Lovell Engineering and TTL\r\nto enter the railroad right of way to conduct field investigations,\r\ncomplete a topographic survey, and conduct soil borings for the bridge\r\nfoundation investigation”.\r\n

\r\nAlso on the agenda is\r\nCrossing Closure Agreement between CSX Transportation, Inc. and Lowndes County<\/a>,\r\nwhich the\r\nagenda sheet<\/a> says is about\r\nthe “Dasher Johnson Road highway-rail at-grade crossing”,\r\nwhich you wouldn’t know from the listing in the agenda.\r\n

\r\nSheriff Ashley Paulk wants the county to buy\r\n\r\na dozen pursuit vehicles<\/a>\r\nwhich according to the agenda sheet<\/a> will cost either $387,340 from Cass Burch for 2017 Dodge Chargers or $309,636 from Langdale Ford for 2017 Fold Police Interceptors.\r\nI bet they’ll pick the latter.\r\nI seem to recall the Sheriff said in the recent retreat that he had money for\r\n10 our of 12 vehicles and he got a package deal.\r\n

\r\nNo County Commission meeting is complete without\r\ndrugs and alcohol<\/a>.\r\n
