Quarterman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sent to all four Commissioners and the County Clerk Sunday evening:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nDear Commissioners,<\/p>\n<p>\nThere seems to be confusion as to how long citizens get to be heard.<br \/>\nThe policy says five minutes.<br \/>\n<img style=\"float:right;border:none;\"\nwidth=\"264\"\nheight=\"64\"\nsrc=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6126\/5926313862_c739d13963_o.png\"><br \/>\nYet in at least a couple of recent examples,<br \/>\ncitizens were cut off at less than that,<\/p>\n<p>\n4 and a half minutes for me on 28 June 2011<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WJseMtJvJE8\"><br \/>\nhttp:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=WJseMtJvJE8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\n4 minutes 39 seconds for Jessica Bryan Hughes on 24 May 2011<\/p>\n<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2ZxieSV6Yz8\"><br \/>\nhttp:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2ZxieSV6Yz8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\nYou can see the times on the YouTube videos.<\/p>\n<p>\nThis timing confusion may be because\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nthere is no clock in the<br \/>\nCommission chambers visible to both the Chairman and the speakers.<br \/>\nMay I suggest adding one?<\/p>\n<p>\nEven easier would be to display a countdown on the Commissioners&#8217;<br \/>\nlaptops and on the big screen behind the Chairman.<\/p>\n<p>\nThank you,<br \/>\n<br \/>\n-jsq<br \/>\n<br \/>\nJohn S.
