There was no\nfeed or grass\/hay on scene. While in the protective custody of Lowndes\nCounty Animal Shelter\nshe got maggots in the wound on her back. Ruby  also had\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<!--more-->\n<blockquote>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/animals\/DSCN0538.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"  width=\"160\" height=\"120\"  src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/animals\/DSCN0538.jpg\"><\/a>\nrain rott, which is a fungus. It was never treated until\nmyself and Officer Ronnie Ganas found her in this condition in the back\npasture. We treated and bathed her daily on our lunch hour. Ruby was\nseen by the veterinarian Dr. Ali Thornhill on the scene and again\nseveral time while she was at the shelter and the shelter\ndirector Linda Patelski was instructed that the wound on her back\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/animals\/DSCN0538-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"  width=\"160\" height=\"120\"  src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/animals\/DSCN0538-1.jpg\"><\/a>\nneeded to be cleaned daily and treated, the horse was put out in the\nback pasture and never treated, Maggots gathered in the wound on her\nback. Ruby never got better and was later euthanised after she started\nloosing weight. When I would clean the wound there was no type of anti\nbacterial soap or antiseptics at the shelter, I cleaned the would with<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/animals\/DSCN0538-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"  width=\"160\" height=\"120\"  src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/animals\/DSCN0538-2.jpg\"><\/a>\nbaby shampoo and flushed with wound with baby shampoo and treated it\nwith hemorrhoid cream for humans .
