\n\n<\/a>\nIt is unbelievable that despite all the concerns in our community about\nbiomass, the Industrial authority is still considering to sell the\nland to a company like\n\nWiregrass Power LLC.<\/a>\nThis is the same company\nthe Industrial Authority once stated\n\n<\/a>\n\nit had no faith in anymore.<\/a>\nThis is the same company\n\nthat just missed another deadline as stipulated by\ntheir contract.<\/a> And this is the same company that apparently does not\nhave the best interest of our community in mind.\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n
\n\n<\/a>\nThe American Lung Association, the American Cancer Society and the\nAmerican Heart Association have come out strongly against biomass. Local\ndoctors such as\n\n<\/a>\n\nDr. Craig Bishop<\/a> have joined the ranks of thousands\nof doctors throughout the nation to speak up against biomass. The\nEnvironmental Issues Committee at\n\nVSU has spoken up against biomass.<\/a>\n\n<\/a>\nThe first members of the City Council,\n\nthe Chair of the Lowndes County Commission,<\/a>\nand well respected community leaders such as \nDr. Angela Manning<\/a>\n\n<\/a>\nand\n\nRev. George Bennett<\/a>\nhave spoken up against biomass.\n

\nThere is no more time for excuses and dancing around the issue. It is\ntime for the Industrial Authority\n\n<\/a>\nto finally put their foot down and do\nwhat is best for our community. It is also time for members of the\n\nCity Council<\/a>\nand the\n\nLowndes County Commission<\/a>\nto assert their influence on\na body to which they have appointed each individual board member.\n
