Dept. Ag. to Lowndes Co. Animal Services\n<br>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/animals\/v2.png\">\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:center;border:none;\"   width=\"500\" height=\"286\" src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/animals\/v2.png\"><\/a>\n<li>\na long handwritten statement by Pat Smith, also annotated:\n<br>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:center;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/animals\/jpsigned.png\">\n<blockquote>\n&ldquo;Copy of report received by [signed] Joe Pritchard 6-3-11&rdquo;\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/ul>\n\n<!--more-->\n<ul>\n<li>\n2010-08-26 Letter of euthanasia certification from veterinarian Timothy Thornhill\nannotated 2011-05-28:\n<blockquote>\n&ldquo;Timothy Cook is no longer certified due to inappropriate [&#8230;] of euthanasia on 5-20-11, [&#8230;] 5-28-11 [signed]&rdquo;\n<\/blockquote>\n<li>\n2011-05-12 intake form for the dog\n<li>\n2011-05-31 statement from Director Linda Patelski including:\n<blockquote>\n&ldquo;Due to the serious nature of this offense,\nboth Timothy Cook and Heather Terry received a written reprimand\nand Termination upon all details being brought forward.&rdquo;\n<\/blockquote>\n<li>\n2011-06-01 statement from Lenora Lynn Miller\n<li>\n2011-05-20 statement from Heather Terry\n<li>\n2011-06-03 statement from Michelle Shultz\n<li>\n2011-06-03 statement from Shawn Chace\n<li>\nAccording to Pat Smith&#8217;s writeup, Tim Cook refused to write a statement.\n<\/ul>\nHow do we know all this?\n<p>\nIt&#8217;s a response to\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/animals\/2011-06-12--leavens.html\">\nan open records request<\/a> Susan Levens filed with to Ga. Dept. of Ag. on 12 June 2011:\n<blockquote>\n&ldquo;On June 3rd an investigation was conducted by Pat Smith and Bill\nMcCrainey at the Lowndes County Animal Shelter. I would like all\nstatements, violations, notes, repercussions and emails pertaining to\nthis investigation and if any contact (emails, statements,\nviolations) with the county commissioners office these would includes\nbut are not limited to Joe Prichard, Paige Dukes, Mickey Tillman,\nSuzanne Pittman. This investigation would include, Linda Patelski,\nHeather Terry, Tim Cook, Lynn Miller and perhaps Michelle Shultz. Any\ninformation pertaining to the investigation on June 3rd would be\nappreciated.&rdquo;\n<\/blockquote>\nAnd it appears the investigation itself was provoked by a complaint\nfrom Susan Leavens, including in the open records response.\n<p>\nSo it appears there was something to at least one of Susan Leavens\nallegations: enough substance to provoke a serious investigation\nafter which two people got fired.\n<p>\nThis could cause people to wonder why there is no serious investigation\nof the rest of her allegations?\n<p>\n-jsq\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Improper use of drugs for euthanizing animals is apparently enough to get someone fired from the animal shelter, at least if there is a parade of witnesses and paperwork, but only after someone files a complaint with GA Dept. of Ag.
