The providers would have to be able<br \/>\nto connect to the transmission system for Georgia Power or its sister<br \/>\nutilities in Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.onlineathens.com\/stories\/072411\/new_861471234.shtml\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/www.seeklogo.com\/images\/G\/Georgia_Power-logo-DC98D8B895-seeklogo.com.gif\"><\/a><br \/>\nGeorgia Power says it plans to enter into 20-year agreements. The PSC<br \/>\nunanimously approved the proposal, which was filed after PSC member<br \/>\nLauren McDonald in June gave Georgia Power 30 days to come up with ideas<br \/>\nfor large-scale solar energy projects.<\/p>\n<p>\nGeorgia Power can currently buy up to 4.4 megawatts of solar power from<br \/>\nindependent power producers, and collects the costs through a voluntary,<br \/>\npremium-priced green power program.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Previously I wrote PSC lining up to vote for solar and last week they went and did it.
