\r\nNot on \r\nthe agenda<\/a> for\r\n\r\nMonday morning’s Work Session<\/a>,\r\nbut added back for Tuesday evening’s Regular Session,\r\nthe Brookwood Place Subdivision tabled two weeks ago<\/a>\r\npopped up in\r\n\r\nReports<\/a>.\r\nWhere is it? Who owns it? How did they get it? Who’s the developer? No, really, who’s the developer?\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n

\r\n8. Reports – County Manager – the reappearance of Brookwood water\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\"8.<\/a>\r\n

\r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nCounty Manager Joe Pritchard said he was bringing back the trust indenture for “the Brookwood Place subdivision off of Mt. Zion.”\r\nHe can’t have meant Mt. Zion Road, which is in the southwest part of the county,\r\nnot near the Valdosta City limits, and has no built-up subdivisions like they\r\nshowed on the map.\r\nHe must have meant Mt. Zion Church Road.\r\n

\r\nUtilities Director\r\nSteve Stalvey said the county has water located as close as Farmer’s Way\r\n“on this map that you see here now” but of course the county did not post\r\non its website.\r\nHe said the yellow is Brookwood Place, the blue is Valdosta’s city water lines, and the red is where the county currently has water.\r\n

\r\nOn the next map, the red line Stalvey is a proposed county water line\r\n

\r\nStalvey said that water line would cost $800,000.\r\nHe said a well for the subdivision would cost $500,000,\r\nnot county any treatment of the water such as chlorination.\r\n

\r\nA Commissioner (Clay Griner?) asked if the water line might potentially\r\nserve some other subdivision.\r\nAnswer: there were some possible areas, but no actual requests currently.\r\n

\r\nThey put it back on the agenda for Tuesday evening’s Regular Session.\r\n

\r\nCommissioner Mark Stalvey<\/strike> Wisenbaker wanted to know numbers on the subdivision.\r\nAnswer: 48 or 60 homes. Better number available Tuesday.\r\n

\r\nRezoning?\r\nAnswer from County Planner Jason Daveneport:\r\nNo, he already has the necessary zoning.\r\n

\r\nWho owns these four parcels combined for this subdivision?\r\nAccording to\r\n\r\nLowndes County Tax Assessors<\/a>:\r\n\r\n

\r\nOf course, that doesn’t answer who the actual developer is,\r\nsince it’s probably not the bank.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nHere’s an answer from the agenda item for the meeting two weeks ago<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nHISTORY, FACTS AND ISSUES: James Warren and Associates is developing\r\na piece of property in the County and would like to have a private\r\nwater system serve this development. The developer is requesting\r\nthat the Board of Commissioners approve a trust deed for this\r\nsystem. The State requires that new subdivisions have a trust deed,\r\nbefore they will issue a water system permit.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nOK, who is James Warren and Associates?\r\nAccording to their \r\nweb page<\/a>:\r\n

\r\nWe are a fully-functional Certified Utility Contractor based in South Georgia.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nOK, that’s nice, but that sounds like a subcontractor.\r\nWho’s doing the houses and streets for the subdivision?\r\n

\r\nAnd why is it always twenty questions with the county?\r\n<\/p>\r\n
