\r\nMost people wanted to know which roads would be paved when,\r\nin Bemiss, to Alapaha Subdivision, and next to the new Civic Center.\r\n\r\n\"Steve<\/a>\r\nThey did also talk about the \r\nplanned new civic center<\/a> and the\r\n\r\nAlapaha Boatramp<\/a> they’re building.\r\n

\r\nI thank\r\n\r\nthe Chairman for clarifying<\/a> his\r\n\r\nremark about paving every road<\/a> in the county.\r\nHe and other county officials also went on about safety being a big concern,\r\nwhich is news to me, on my road the county insisted on paving that became\r\na drag race track.\r\nAnd what’s this about\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\ncounty regulations for every road<\/a>?\r\nWhere are they, and can we see them?\r\n

\r\nCommissioner Joyce Evans (District 1) said they would start by asking for concerns, Tony Sermons (local pastor) gave an invocation, County Manager Joe Pritchard introduced the staff, and Chairman Bill Slaughter praised Evans.\r\n

\r\nSlaughter then fielded the first question, about when a road near Bemiss would be paved.\r\nHe said the ultimate goal was to pave all roads in the county.\r\nI asked him for clarification on that later in the meeting.\r\nPastor Sermons was one of many attendees who asked road paving questions,\r\nespecially about dirst Savannah Rd N.E. that goes to his church,\r\nSt Mary Missionary Baptist Church.\r\n

      \r\nPeople wanted to know if “a community” (a subdivision development) wanted to go in, would the road be paved?\r\nAnswer: yes, because the developer would have to pay for it.\r\n

      \r\nRoad closings were another popular topic.\r\n

      \r\n
