The parking deck would provide 290 additional spaces.\r\nThe net increase of 290 spaces would bring the total parking spaces\r\ndowntown to 1,374.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n&ldquo;We see the parking deck as a certain need for the foreseeable\r\nfuture,&rdquo; said Dasher. &ldquo;This isn&#8217;t to address the parking\r\nneeds today. It&#8217;s also for the next 20 years as downtown Valdosta\r\ncontinues to grow.&rdquo;\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nThe first design released is a traditional style brick deck. The\r\nsecond option is a contemporary style, plexiglass deck with a\r\nchangeable light display.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nBoth designs would include 95 spaces on the street level, 110 spaces\r\non the second level and 85 spaces on the third level.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nThe Toombs Street parking lot is the primary contender for the\r\nlocation.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nOn Valdosta&#8217;s website, 9 March 2016,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.valdostacity.com\/cvda-hosts-public-forum-for-proposed-downtown-parking-deck-mar-15\">CVDA Hosts Public Forum for Proposed Downtown Parking Deck, Mar. 15<\/a>\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/home\/headlines\/Local-Shops-React-to-Parking-Deck-in-Downtown-Valdosta-372032122.html\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"http:\/\/media.graytvinc.com\/images\/353*470\/downtown+valdosta1.jpg\"><\/a>\r\nThe City of Valdosta and Central Valdosta Development Authority will\r\nhost a public forum on Tuesday, March 15 to discuss a proposed new\r\nparking deck for Downtown Valdosta. The forum will take place at 5\r\np.m. in the City Hall Annex Multi-Purpose Room, located at 300 N.\r\nLee Street.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nThe parking deck is being suggested as one option to create\r\nadditional parking opportunities in Downtown Valdosta. At the forum,\r\nconceptual plans for the parking deck will be presented.
