{"id":1604,"date":"2011-08-24T08:50:48","date_gmt":"2011-08-24T12:50:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2011\/08\/photographers-stay-to-the-back.html"},"modified":"2011-08-24T08:50:48","modified_gmt":"2011-08-24T12:50:48","slug":"photographers-stay-to-the-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2011\/08\/photographers-stay-to-the-back.html","title":{"rendered":"Photographers stay to the back"},"content":{"rendered":"<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6089\/6076446686_515c0718fe_m.jpg\"><\/a>\nAfter the County Commission meeting today, Chairman Ashley Paulk\nand I were chatting and he mentioned that starting at the next meeting\neveryone with a camera would be moved to the back of the room.\n<p>\nAs I went out of the commission chambers,\n\n<!--more-->\nI met County Clerk\nPaige Dukes\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6066\/6075934997_7e4579d0f5_m.jpg\">\nand I asked her about being moved to the back of the room.\nShe said she didn&#8217;t know anything about it and had only over heard\n&#8220;them&#8221; talking about it before the meeting.\n<p>\nThere was no indication who &#8220;them&#8221; was.\nShe suggested that I clarify with the Chairman.\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6076\/6075919403_d27335e092_m.jpg\">\nI went back into the Commission Chambers and asked Chairman Paulk\nto clarify, where would this area be and would it be only for press\nor even for citizens with cameras. He said it would be for everyone\nwith cameras and that &#8220;some people&#8221; found it distracting to have\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/98706376@N00\/6076488260\/in\/photostream\/\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6083\/6076488260_830b902c97_t.jpg\"><\/a>\ncameras in the audience.\n<p>\nAgain, it was not clear to me who the &#8220;some people&#8221; are.\n<p>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6202\/6075940775_8932285a84_m.jpg\">\nThe area he indicated in the back of the room is a small alcove where\nthere is no seating. And he said that if any camera crews from TV\nstations came, they would also have to be in that area.\n<p>\nI mentioned to him that the audio in the back of the room is poor\nand one of the reasons I had moved from the second last row to\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6184\/6075973235_90f6eb8690_o.jpg\">\nthe second from the front, is because the audio is much better\nin the front.  He suggested that I talk to Aaron Kostyu the IT director.\n<p>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/02\/we-can-limit-them-to-one-area-joe-pritchard.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6201\/6076471710_682ed2ca1e_m.jpg\"><\/a>\nApparently the commissioners <a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/02\/we-can-limit-them-to-one-area-joe-pritchard.html\">talked about this at their retreat\nin the spring<\/a> (I missed that meeting).
