\n\n<\/a>\nLast week I went to the Rainwater Conference Center to attend the\nValdosta-Lowndes County Conference Center & Tourism Authority Board\nMeeting.\n<\/p>\n

\nI had discovered\n\nthe time and date of this meeting<\/a> by asking at the\ninformation booth at the Conference Center one day when I was there\nfor another event.\n<\/p>\n

\nI arrived slightly before the 8:00 appointed time and was greated\nwarmly by\n\nCouncilman Tim Carroll<\/a>\nand\n\nConference Center Director Tim Riddle<\/a>.\n\n<\/a>\nBeing the Conference Center, they served a hot breakfast\n(other morning boards have fruits and sweets but this was something\nthat you might get up for).\n<\/p>\n

\nAs 8:00 came there was apparently not a quorum, so calls went out to\nmissing\n\nmembers<\/a> to see if one more could be attacted. At 8:15 it was\nclear that there would be no additional members coming so no formal\nmeeting was held, no votes were taken but an informal review of the\nagenda was performed:<\/p>\n\n\n

    \nThe information presented at this "not a meeting" was informative.\nThere was a detailed presentation and discussion of the financial\nstatement along with discussion about needed updates to the website\n\nvisitvaldosta.org<\/a> and the new conference center focused site which\nis under development (and not currently available)\nrainwaterconferencecenter.com.\n<\/p>\n

    \n\n<\/a>\n

    \nFrom my point of view, a troubling thing was that there was a bid\naward that needed to be made and no vote could be taken.\n<\/p>\n

    \nAfter the meeting, I asked Tim Riddle if I might obtain a copy of\nthe packet that the board members had and he said yes. I picked up\nthe packet as lunch time when I was back at the Conference Center\nfor another meeting.\n<\/p>\n
