\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n\r\nCitizen Billy Rowland<\/a> complained about poor road grading,\r\nhis dogs being shot, and misuse of Knights Ferry Landing on the Withlacoochee River.\r\nMaybe the Commission will listen to what he said this time, at last Tuesday’s Lowndes County Commissioner Regular Session.\r\nApparently G. Norman Bennett wants Hall Web Road paved for the mile to his house at the Little River, but\r\n\r\nJulia Bass<\/a>,\r\n\r\nRalph Niehenke<\/a>,\r\nand\r\n\r\nDiane Guess<\/a>\r\nspoke up saying they don’t want it paved.\r\nCommissioner Mark Wisenbaker tried to ask them questions,\r\nbut Chairman Bill Slaughter cut him off.\r\nSlaugher did have time earlier fo\r\nan extra announcement of a joint governmental meeting Tuesday morning.\r\nIt’s not clear citizens will even get to speak there, much less get questions answered.\r\nSee\r\nseparate post<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nThey passed \r\n\r\nthe resolution to ask the legislature to start the proecess<\/a>\r\nto appoint rather than elect Lowndes County Tax Assessors.\r\n

\r\nThey already did emergency repairs to\r\nClyattville Nankin Road Bridge<\/a> (problem discovered by a local citizen)\r\nand\r\nJumping Gully Road Bridge<\/a> (found by GDOT),\r\nand the Commissione approved payment after the fact.\r\nSo two more no-bid contracts were let, this time without even a Commission vote before the work was done.\r\n

\r\nThey agreed to the\r\n\r\nNorth Lowndes Park Quitclaim and Custodial Agreement<\/a>\r\nby which Valdosta-Lowndes Parks & Rec. Authority (VLPRA) takes\r\ncharge of some land west of I-75 north of Hahira for a soccer field.\r\n

\r\nA few citizens spoke about rezoning for the mysterious\r\n\r\nProject Max<\/a>, but of course they passed the rezoning anyway,\r\neven though apparently none of the Commissioners know who the prospective tenant is.\r\n
