\nGeorge Boston Rhynes made three points:\n\n\n

  1. \n“I’m against this consolidation.”\n
  2. \nRetired Air Force, involved in community across the nation,\nhuman rights, NAACP, SCLC, “including getting South Africa\nto do away with apartheid”.\nAnd back in Valdosta:\n
    \n\n<\/a>\n…there is an asserted effort to keep the people in\nour community deaf, dumb, and blind to the times\nand unable to make intelligent decisions based on facts\nand information at public meetings.\n

    \nIn Tucson, Arizona, when we was going against apartheid in South Africa,\nwe had television cameras everywhere on the local level.\nWhen we, Jesse Jackson and I, was assisting him in his campaign,\nI worked for Barack Obama, a lot of those meetings we had\ncameras in the local community.\n<\/blockquote>\nAnd George was\non ABC News.<\/a>\n

    \nGeorge continued at the VBOE meeting:\n

    \n\n<\/a>\nI’m looking for cameras here tonight,\nto see the citizens show up to show their concern.\nI know they’re out in the hallway.\n

    \n…I have seen cameras here at this building when it concerns football,\n
    \n[crowd chuckles]\n
    \nor something along that line.\n

    \nSo I’m really hurt, I’m injured.\n\n<\/a>\nWhy is it when the people come together on issues such as this,\nnot just black folk, not just white folk, but all Americans\nare here tonight because of our concern.\nAnd we say all of our news media should be here.\n<\/blockquote>\nThen he put in a plug for me and LAKE’s blog, On the LAKE Front;\nI’m too shy to quote that part.\n

    \nGeorge continued:\n

    \nI started blogging years ago, but I started YouTube\n\n<\/a>\nwhen I found out that there’s so much information\nthat’s going on in this community, and all around south Georgia\nin general, that the common person that don’t come to these\nmeetings are really ignorant. They are very ignorant.\nBecause the Valdosta Daily Times\n\n<\/a>\ndon’t get it out right,\nWCTV don’t get it out right,\nABC don’t get it out right,\nand we the citizens don’t get it out of our mouths to tell them\nthat they ain’t getting it out.\n<\/blockquote>\n
  3. \nGeorge concluded:\n
    \nInformation can save a nation,\n
    \nbut ignorance will destroy it.\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/ol>\n
