The\nvideo has been viewed almost two hundred thousand times on\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/1qtown\">Gilford&#8217;s YouTube channel.<\/a>\n<p>\nYesterday afternoon, around 3:30 Gilford was at the counter in Town Hall,\nfiling an open records request for town hall feed surveillance tape\nwhen Assistant Town Manager Al Johnson confronted Gilford. Apparently\nfeeling threatened, Gilford set his camera on the counter but didn&#8217;t hit\nrecord, when suddenly Johnson snatched it from across the counter. When\nGilford called for police assistance, he ended up being arrested instead\nof Johnson.\n<\/blockquote>\nWell, I suppose there are several morals here, such as never set your\ncamera down, never go into a public office alone, etc.\n<p>\nBut that&#8217;s not what seems familiar. Oh, here it is:\n\n<!--more-->\n<blockquote>\nGilford has been for driving around town with a large sign directed at\nthe Quartzsite Town Council that reads: &#8220;GO QUIT RESIGN!&#8221;\n<\/blockquote>\nI&#8217;ve got it!\n<a href=\"http:\/\/viewpointnews.net\/blog\/?p=415\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/viewpointnews.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/viewpointphoto1.jpg\"><\/a>\nGilford reminds me of\n<a href=\"http:\/\/viewpointnews.net\/blog\/?p=415\">\nRoy Taylor and his get rid of the mayor signs!<\/a>\nHey, just my opinion Roy!\n<p>\nThe situation in Quartzsite is much weirder than that,\nwhat with the mayor backing the citizens, the\ncouncil apparently backing the police chief,\nwho has <a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/07\/quartzsite-police-chief-puts-most-of-the-dept-on-leave-for-whistleblowing.html\">\nput most of his department on leave for whistleblowing,<\/a>\nI can&#8217;t keep up with it.\n<p>\n-jsq\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Somebody else got arrested in Quartzsite, AZ, according to The Desert Freedom Press 2 September 2011: Local Realtor Doug Gilford has gained notoriety as the blogger and videographer who filmed the unlawful removal of Desert Freedom Press Publisher Jennifer Jones, from a June 28th town council meeting.
