then he&#8217;ll notice you!\n<p>\nFirst I pointed out that the Mayor of Hahira was in the room.\nThe Chairman had recognized the\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/sonny-vickers-mayor-of-valdosta.html\">\nnew Mayor of Valdosta,<\/a>\nhis replacement on the Valdosta City Council, and\nthe\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/the-exit-strategy-dan-bremer-lcc-13-september-2011.html\">\nChair of the Lake Park Chamber of Commerce,<\/a> but not the Mayor of Hahira.\nI didn&#8217;t want anyone to think the County Commission\ndoesn&#8217;t care about Hahira!\n<p>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/7a-rez-2011-11-west-fuller-5303-tucker-road-lcc-12-sep-2011.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/i4.ytimg.com\/vi\/_462t1cqfE0\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\nThen I commended the voting Commissioners for their comments\n\n<!--more-->\nthe day before\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/7a-rez-2011-11-west-fuller-5303-tucker-road-lcc-12-sep-2011.html\">\non the first rezoning case.<\/a>\nI forgot to say their names, but Commissioner Powell had wanted to be sure\ndetails of the case were recorded in case anybody wanted to review it\nyears hence, and Commissioner Evans wanted to to note the Planning\nCommission would probably want to review the case again before\nthe County Commission voted on it.\nI do think it&#8217;s good to see the system actually working!\n<p>\nOh, yes, I pointed out that the <a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/ordinance-for-no-reason-not-on-the-agenda-and-not-read-to-the-public-lcc-13-september-2011.html\">\nunknown ordinance the Commission passed first thing even though it wasn&#8217;t\non the agenda<\/a>\n(assuming it had something to do with the Chairman&#8217;s\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/photographers-to-the-back-of-the-room-ashley-paulk-lcc-12-september-2011.html\">\ngracious decree of the previous day<\/a>),\nwas passed despite the Commissioners understanding neither all the relevant\nissues nor all the relevant laws, and that I intended to continue\ndiscussion on those points.\nMore on them in future posts.\n<p>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/solar-for-georgia-bill-branham-lcc-12-september-2011.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/i2.ytimg.com\/vi\/e1xunOAS3M8\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\nOn the subject of\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/solar-for-georgia-bill-branham-lcc-12-september-2011.html\">\nCommissioner Raines&#8217; remarks against the current viability of solar,<\/a>\nI said while I didn&#8217;t agree with him, I nonetheless thanked him for\nsaying what he did, because it started a discussion on that subject,\nsuch as\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/solar-is-cost-effective-dr-noll-lcc-13-september-2011.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/i4.ytimg.com\/vi\/_rA_-mpwEmo\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/solar-is-cost-effective-dr-noll-lcc-13-september-2011.html\">\nDr. Noll&#8217;s remarks just before mine.<\/a>\n<p>\nContinuing with some solar points, I noted Georgia has two solar panel\nmanufacturers:\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2010\/12\/suniva-went-to-solar-valley-michigan-which-has-a-plan.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/media.mlive.com\/design\/baseline\/img\/logo_mlive.gif\"><\/a>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/05\/mage-solar-forging-ahead-in-south-georgia.html\">\nMAGE Solar,<\/a> a German company whose North American headquarters\nare in Dublin, and\nSuniva,\na homegrown company in Norcross which is so successful they&#8217;ve had to\nopen a second plant.\nI neglected to note that\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2010\/12\/suniva-went-to-solar-valley-michigan-which-has-a-plan.html\">\nthe second plant is in Michigan<\/a>,\nbecause nobody in Georgia apparently tried to attract it.\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/04\/opportunities-from-solar-power-jerome-tucker-and-mage-solar-at-lhs-29-march-2011.html\">\nJerome Tucker had organized\na talk by that company at Lowndes High School<\/a>\nin which\nthey explained the many related local jobs that could be developed,\nfrom architects, to transport, to installation, and more.\n<p>\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/06\/renewable-sustainable-energy-network-vlcoc.html\">\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"   src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3270\/5794141085_3a046c9c89_m.jpg\"><\/a>\nI also recommended interested parties join the\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/06\/renewable-sustainable-energy-network-vlcoc.html\">\nRenewable and Sustainable Energy Network<\/a>\nof the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce,\norganized by ReKasa Deen and headed by Dr. Dennis Marks.\n<p>\nWrapping up, I suggested the Commission adopt (certainly not\nbecause Valdosta already has this!),\nas an addition to the County Manager Comments already on the agenda,\nan item for Commissioner Comments\nafter Citizens Wishing to Be Heard, so if Commissioners wanted\nto say more than a few words about subjects citizens raise,\nthey&#8217;d have a good opportunity to do that.\n<p>\nFinally, I suggested getting a clock.\nThe Chairman pointed at something not visible in front of him\nand said it was the official clock.\nI said but nobody out here can see it.\n<p>\nMaybe if we take up a collection we can donate them a clock.\n<p>\nHere&#8217;s\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=t1b_1qhlMsE\">\nthe video:<\/a>\n<p align=\"center\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" width=\"480\" height=\"390\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/t1b_1qhlMsE\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<br>\n<small>\nFlattery! &mdash;John S.
