\nNolen Cox seems to think CHIP grant recipients don’t work.<\/p>\n

\nChairman Paulk declined to let Mrs. Cox speak because he said in a letter
\nto the Commission she called them idiots.
\nWhen he let Nolen Cox speak, Cox said:<\/p>\n

\nI think it’s interesting that the comments
\nabout the CHIP grant comes after the vote.
\nY’all must be an all-wise group.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Chairman Paulk referred to that as sarcastic.
\nCox disagreed.
\nPaulk said it was in his opinion and he decided such things there.<\/p>\n

\nCox asserted that:<\/p>\n

\nto get a $300,000 grant it takes about $420,000
\nof tax money accumulated from citizens.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He didn’t cite any source for those figures.
\nHe did claim the Commission was luring people into homebuying
\nwhile home prices are going down.<\/p>\n

\nSomebody had to work for the money that they didn’t get
\nto give to somebody who didn’t work.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Sounds like he was saying CHIP grant recipients don’t work.
\nI wonder how they pay their mortgages then, since CHIP grants
\nas near as I can tell only help with down payments?<\/p>\n

\nI guess he didn’t hear Carolyn Selby’s point that
\n
\nCHIP grants turn renters into property tax-paying owners.<\/a>
\nSeems like that would help keep Nolen Cox’s property taxes low.<\/p>\n
