\r\n\r\n \r\nSpectra Energy’s paid staff are continue to assert that Sabal\r\nTrail’s proposed gouge through our fields, farms, and under our\r\nrivers will proceed according their plan to profit executives and\r\ninvestors in Houston, Texas.\r\n<\/p>\r\n \r\nActually,\r\n\r\n because Sabal Trail moved its proposed compressor station\r\nsite, it had to file another request for an air quality permit.\r\nGA-EPD’s Eric Cornwell says there will be another public comment\r\nperiod and a public hearing in Albany. Cornwell told me he had been\r\nunable to find anyone who wanted that compressor station. And\r\nwithout it, there will be no pipeline.\r\n<\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\nMeanwhile in Florida, FL-DEP’s notice of intent to issue a permit\r\nfor Sabal Trail to drill under the Suwannee River is being contested\r\nby WWALS Watershed Coalition, Inc. WWALS sent\r\n\r\nan amended petition<\/a> to DEP this Friday, August 28th.\r\n<\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\nRegardless of what the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC)\r\ndoes or what Spectra says, work can’t start on the Albany compressor\r\nstation or on drilling under rivers in Georgia or Florida without\r\nthese state permits.\r\n<\/p>\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n“Based on these numerous studies, Sabal Trail\r\nconsiders the site feasible\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\nRather than find out the hard way what else Sabal Trail got wrong,\r\nlet’s stop this pipeline before it can destroy anything around here.\r\n<\/p>\r\n![\"jsq](\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/f2a3eb05cc8503509d895517738bfd6f.jpg\")
<\/a>\r\nThe same day the Sabal Trail was quoted in the VDT August 5th as\r\nsaying it had done enough subsurface analysis on our fragile karst\r\nlimestone topography, a sinkhole opened up next to Shiloh Road.\r\nSabal Trail already had to move its Albany compressor station\r\nbecause arrowheads had been found there. The pipeline itself is a\r\nmuch bigger mistake: let’s stop it before it damages our property\r\nvalues, forests, rivers, or our people.\r\n<\/p>\r\n![\"WWALS](\"http:\/\/www.wwals.net\/wp-content\/themes\/pianoblack\/img\/\/2015\/09\/75ed90dad4c54f156c4f9180a20fb93b.jpg\")

<\/a>\r\nThat\r\n\r\nShiloh Road sinkhole<\/a> is much like the one that ate Snake Nation\r\nRoad a few years ago, or the one that opened\r\n\r\nnext to the Withlacoochee River across from Cherry Creek<\/a>\r\na few years ago, all in\r\nthe same kind of karst topography where Sabal Trail proposes to\r\ncross our Withlacoochee River.
