\nThe Development Authority re-elected its same officers<\/a>, after extending the term of the Chairman to two years.<\/p>\n

\nSGRC’s Corey Hull<\/a> presented very briefly about the 2040 Transporation Plan,
\nand asked for questions.
\nThe Development Authority had none.<\/p>\n

\nLots of dials showing<\/p>\n

goals and how far they are to reaching them in

\nMeghan Duke’s Community Relations and Marketing Update<\/a>.
\nShe concluded by showing off a Made in Valdosta t-shirt.
\nGreat idea, but my crops are made in Lowndes County, not Valdosta.<\/p>\n

\nWhen Roy Copeland exited the room early on, he left Jerry Jennett
\na note, which

\nJennett asked about: what is this V S E B<\/a>?
\nStan Crance and Tom Call reminded Jennett it is the
\n
\nValdosta Small Emerging Business (VSEB)<\/a>,
\nand that VLCIA had frequently tried to get local small and emerging
\nbusinesses involved in their contracts.
\nThe specific grass-mowing contract under discussion was probably
\ntoo small to split up for that.<\/p>\n

\nThe
\n
\nattorney mentioned<\/a> estoppel,
\nand several people wanted to know what was, and wished they could get it
\nonce they found out.<\/p>\n

\nIn Citizens Wishing to Be Heard,
\n
\nJerome Tucker said<\/a> he’d arranged with Pine Grove Middle School to
\nact as an agrobusiness resource center.<\/p>\n

\n
\nI mentioned Pine Grove Middle is<\/a> also the venue for the annual
\n
\nSouth Georgia Growing Local Conference<\/a>.
\nI asked for a letter of support to WWALS
\nfor the
\n
\nWithlacoochee and Little River Water Trail<\/a>.
\nI noted public transportation would attract development towards it
\nand out of
\n
\nthe agricultural area where I live<\/a>.
\nPlus
\n
\nLive Oak has started a bus system<\/a>.
\nMaybe VLDA would like to chip in
\n
\nthat $16,000 the Lowndes County
\nCommission declined to invest in a transportation study<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\nAfter noting I wished I didn’t have to talk about it,
\nI gave them an update on the
\n
\nSabal Trail fracked methane pipeline<\/a>
\nand recommended they do something about it, such as a resolution.
\nThey said nothing in the meeting.
\nAfterwards Chairman Tom Call indicated they weren’t likely to do anything.<\/p>\n
