\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nThey meet again tonight; here are videos from last month, when\r\n\r\nElectrical Test Labs of Georgia<\/a> was recognized, and claimed dibs on some land.\r\n

\r\n\r\nThe Development Authority re-elected its same officers<\/a>, after extending the term of the Chairman to two years.\r\n

\r\n\r\nSGRC’s Corey Hull<\/a> presented very briefly about the 2040 Transporation Plan,\r\nand asked for questions.\r\nThe Development Authority had none.\r\n

\r\nLots of dials showing\r\n\r\n goals and how far they are to reaching them in\r\n\r\nMeghan Duke’s Community Relations and Marketing Update<\/a>.\r\nShe concluded by showing off a Made in Valdosta t-shirt.\r\nGreat idea, but my crops are made in Lowndes County, not Valdosta.\r\n

\r\nWhen Roy Copeland exited the room early on, he left Jerry Jennett\r\na note, which\r\n\r\nJennett asked about: what is this V S E B<\/a>?\r\nStan Crance and Tom Call reminded Jennett it is the\r\n\r\nValdosta Small Emerging Business (VSEB)<\/a>,\r\nand that VLCIA had frequently tried to get local small and emerging\r\nbusinesses involved in their contracts.\r\nThe specific grass-mowing contract under discussion was probably\r\ntoo small to split up for that.\r\n

\r\nThe\r\n\r\nattorney mentioned<\/a> estoppel,\r\nand several people wanted to know what was, and wished they could get it\r\nonce they found out.\r\n

\r\nIn Citizens Wishing to Be Heard,\r\n\r\nJerome Tucker said<\/a> he’d arranged with Pine Grove Middle School to\r\nact as an agrobusiness resource center.\r\n

\r\n\r\nI mentioned Pine Grove Middle is<\/a> also the venue for the annual\r\n\r\nSouth Georgia Growing Local Conference<\/a>.\r\nI asked for a letter of support to WWALS\r\nfor the\r\n\r\nWithlacoochee and Little River Water Trail<\/a>.\r\nI noted public transportation would attract development towards it\r\nand out of\r\n\r\nthe agricultural area where I live<\/a>.\r\nPlus\r\n\r\nLive Oak has started a bus system<\/a>.\r\nMaybe VLDA would like to chip in\r\n\r\nthat $16,000 the Lowndes County\r\nCommission declined to invest in a transportation study<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nAfter noting I wished I didn’t have to talk about it,\r\nI gave them an update on the\r\n\r\nSabal Trail fracked methane pipeline<\/a>\r\nand recommended they do something about it, such as a resolution.\r\nThey said nothing in the meeting.\r\nAfterwards Chairman Tom Call indicated they weren’t likely to do anything.\r\n
