\nMr. Bowers’ visit and his comments are almost comical, particularly his
\nquote that “the government is stimulating for renewables to give them a
\nrunning chance but, when you remove them, the question is can they run
\non their own two feet?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n<\/a>
\nA good question! Fact is that neither coal nor nuclear would be able to
\n“run on their two own feet” if it wasn’t for the large subsidies both have
\nreceived for decades. Now these are nicely hidden subsidies so that the
\naverage consumer thinks he is getting a bargain, without realizing that it
\nis us, the consumers, who have actually paid for this “inexpensive rate”.<\/p>\n

\nAt the same time truly renewable and clean energies\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

<\/p>\n

\nlike solar have
\nreceived little subsidies and produce NO air pollution and NO radioactive
\nwaste or leaks!<\/p>\n

\nAs you already pointed out:
\n
\nsolar is cheaper than nuclear!<\/a><\/p>\n

\n
\n<\/a>
\nThe nuclear industry for decades
\n
\nhas received enormous subsidies!<\/a><\/p>\n

\nLastly, Mr. Bowers is missing an important part of our energy puzzle:
\nenergy conservation and energy efficiency! Why? Because he is in the
\nbusiness of selling energy, not saving it.<\/p>\n
