Greene, Clerk of Superior Court, and asked her for the real list, which is:<!--more-->\r\n\r\n\r\n<table style=\"color:green;font-size:120%\"><tr valign=\"top\">\r\n<td>\r\n<p>\r\nMembers\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\r\nGelana Goddard, Chairman\r\n<li>\r\nJimmy Griffis\r\n<li>\r\nJoe Clark\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/td><td>\r\n<p>\r\nAlternates\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\r\nLana Hall\r\n<li>\r\nWayne Ricks\r\n<li>\r\nCraig Cardella\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<\/tr><\/table>\r\n<p>\r\nBeth Greene said reappointments will come up again with the next Grand Jury,\r\nSeptember 2015 (they have two a year: in March and in September).\r\nShe also said she would contact the County Clerk and see if the\r\nlist on lowndescounty.com could be fixed.\r\n<p>\r\nThe state has a <a href=\"https:\/\/dor.georgia.gov\/documents\/georgia-certification-program-board-equalization-schedule\">\r\nGeorgia Certification Program Board of Equalization Schedule<\/a>.\r\nSee also\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.georgiacenter.uga.edu\/courses\/governmental-training\/board-of-equalization-appeals-process\">\r\nBoards of Equalization and the Appeals Process<\/a>,\r\nan online, self-study course developed by the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government and the Georgia Department of Revenue for members and alternate members of county boards of equalization pursuant to O.C.G.A. Section 48-5-311.\r\n<p>\r\nA commenter when candidates were being sought remarked that\r\namong the BOE&#8217;s options was:\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\"><em>\r\n<ol start=\"4\">\r\n<li>\r\nOrder a re-valuation of the area in which the property is located if a matter of uniformity is in question.\r\n<\/ol>\r\n<\/em>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nThat appears to be what we need for the whole county.\r\nMany rural landowners were no doubt surprised to find their valuations\r\nalmost or more than doubled, but that&#8217;s not the main issue.\r\n<p>\r\nThe main issue is this\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/govt\/loco\/2015-07-14--tax-assessors\/\">\r\nrural land revaluation<\/a> ignored the Comprehensive Plan\r\nand any need to conserve agricultural land.\r\n<p>\r\nIf we wanted to live in Atlanta, we would.\r\nNot everyone wants every tree chopped down or every acre paved over\r\nin Lowndes County.\r\n<p>\r\n -jsq\r\n<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The lowndescounty.com list of the Board of Equalization (BoE) also is not correct, like their incorrect list of Tax Assessors. but there seems to be no other public website list of BoE members.
